Richmond Dayo Johnson

Richmond Dayo Johnson Richmond Dayo Johnson holds British and Nigerian citizenship. He brings to the Idilmat Capacity Development Network over twenty years experience in leadership seminars, media and communication. He is an acclaimed international inspirational speaker and executive coach who has delivered several customised keynote presentations, facilitated workshops, seminars and boot camps on personal effectiveness, hospitality, polished communication skills and social savvy as part of the critical tools needed to differentiate for leadership in the 21st Century.

His experiential knowledge of the Anglo/African environment spans almost three decades and has worked with a mixture of clients ranging from inner city schools to corporate organisations, politicians, the military and governments. Recent clients include Lagos State Governor, HE Babatunde Fashola, and his entire cabinet, Exxon-Mobil, England & Wales Cricket Board, Diana, The Princess of Wales Fund, Nottingham County Council, NHS, YMCA, HSBC, British Food Standards Agency, Citigroup, MTN, Access Bank, Guaranty Assurance, Delta Afrik, LEAP Africa, Windsor Fellowship, Daystar Christian Centre, RCCG UK & Ireland, Moneywise, Futureview, Terra Kulture, and the Commonwealth Business Council, Dept of Constitutional Affairs.

A radio and television broadcaster by training with a post-graduate diploma in management from Teesside University, Middlesbrough, Mr. Johnson worked at GEC, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham and IBM London before becoming Joint Managing Director of Universal Communications Group and later Deputy Managing Director of The Job Paper, London. He spent 18 months in Norway and Sweden working on a United Nations funded project - Media Empowerment for Africa. He was Chair of Southwark Communities Businesses (SCB) during the inner-city regeneration of the early 1990s and later served as a member of the Croydon Education Appeals Committee.
He is the lead judge on the weekly television reality programme: The Debaters – Oratory, the Power to Change, watched all over the African continent and beyond by millions of viewers.

He sits on several boards and committees locally and internationally in an advisory capacity. He is the Charter (Founding) President of Croydon Toastmasters, Surrey – part of an international organisation committed to teaching speaking and leadership skills and is a former Area Governor of the esteemed organisation with direct responsibility for its leaders in East Surrey and Kent.
