Michael Sackey
Michael Sackey, originally from Ghana, is a citizen of the United Kingdom, and brings to the idilmat Capacity Development Network over three decades of extensive experience working across six continents - Europe, USA, Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa. His developing and emerging economy experience includes Ghana, DRC and Equatorial Guinea, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates. He has worked in both the public and private sectors. His particular areas of expertise encompass the areas of Management, Leadership, Organization Development, Change Management and Governance. He has vast expertise with programs management both in the public and private sector. He has managed complex and large scale projects with multi-million budgets in the areas of telecommunications, oil and gas, engineering and infrastructure development sectors.
More specifically he was manager in the first deregulated telecommunications company in the UK (Mercury Communications) and subsequently in Hong Kong deregulation (P-Plus Mobile operator) and has been instrumental in setting up organizational units for multinational companies like Ericsson, Hewlett Packard and Hits Telecom of Kuwait. Mr Sackey was Program Director responsible for the launch of two Mobile Telecommunications companies in the Middle East and Africa; and Project Director with oversight responsibility for communications software vendors in the Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions. Most recently he has been extensively involved in consulting assignments in petroleum industry initiatives in the Middle East and Ghana. He is a member of the board of directors of Tuff (UK) and Tuff Associates (GH) Ltd.
Mr Sackey holds a BSc (Hons) from City University in London and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society.
