Laurent Schwab
Laurent Schwab, Ph.D. is from France and brings a unique perspective on both public sector reform and education policy to the idilmat capacity development network. He works professionally in both French and English. He currently manages international projects for the Asia Network of the National Centre for Scientific research based in Paris. He has more than twenty years of experience in the field of development assistance. In 1989, he was posted at the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP, Bangkok, Thailand) as expert on development planning for the Asian Least Developed Countries. He served in Vietnam as the country director for a consortium of French consulting companies in Vietnam (providing legal services, audit, and development capacity support). He was the director of the French-Vietnam Management Education Centre, a business school, from 1995 to 2002, in Hô Chi Minh city and Ha Noi. He led an EU funded project to support the creation of the first business school in Syria. His professional work has encompassed consulting on education and public finance, for the European Commission, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, in Benin, Syria, Vietnam and Yemen. Dr. Schwab holds a Ph.D in economics from Sorbonne University.
