She has worked in a number of developing countries including United Arab Emirates, Ghana, India, Kenya and Nigeria.

She has wide experience in the private sector and has held positions as the Chief Financial Officers for an exploration drilling company, Systems Manager for Primlaks Group of companies and as a financial analyst for the Landmark Group of Companies, Dubai. Other companies where she acquired valuable experience were the Bhaiji Group of companies, Nation Group, Impala Group of companies, Tata Electronic Development Services, and Geometric Software. Here expertise encompasses ISO certification. Her computer application skills include SAP, Scala, Navision Peach Tree, Sage, Tally, and Accord.

Bhavana is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She is a Certified Lead Auditor of ISO 9001 and 18001. She also holds an MBA in Finance from Notre Dame University, Australia and a BCOM from India. Bhavana is married and has one daughter.
